Truro extension
Last month we were tasked with transforming this tired family home into a modern contemporary style house. The clients wanted more open plan kitchen and dining space for their growing family and the original 60’s style wasn’t doing them any favours.
Going with our full service package, we provided a measured survey on the property and garden area to design from. Not only was the client wanting to improve the internal configuration of the house but felt as though the garden was providing maximise usability due to the current layout. They had also requested for a home gym if we could fit it in!
We opened up the existing ground floor plan and consulted with our in house structural engineers to identify how we can achieve this style, two steels will be going in to allow the removal of internal walls and to open up the rear of the property for the new extension.
From the measured survey we can identify land heights throughout the site and design and decided to break up the garden into segments, each fit for a purpose, with a curved path running around the edge of the site to connect the areas together.
We also drew plans to extend the garage to the rear to create a new home gym in behind. Coupled that idea with a flat roof, allowed us to add a new composite decking above to provide further garden space when first stepping out from the new extension.
With our full service package we include powerful 3D Visualisations that help bring your proposal to life, these not only allow us to carefully consider material choices and save costly mistakes in the future but also serve to aid our planning application in accurately representing our vision. We have submitted this proposal to planning and cannot wait to start on the construction packages soon.
If you have a similar extension project we would love to hear from you and work together to unlock your site’s potential.
